The Executive Chef role at Provincial Senior Living is a key leadership position within the culinary team, closely collaborating with the Hospitality Manager to oversee culinary strategies, initiatives, and daily food service operations. This role demands a highly skilled culinary professional who combines creativity and innovation with strong operational and management expertise. The Executive Chef is responsible for meal preparation, purchasing and estimating food consumption, recipe selection and development, standardizing production recipes for consistent quality, setting presentation technique and quality standards, and menu planning tailored to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences. Ensuring the kitchen equipment is properly maintained and safe is also part of the role, along with promoting safety and sanitation practices in all culinary operations. In addition, the Executive Chef manages special catering events, may offer culinary instruction and demonstrations, and plays a vital role in controlling costs, managing food waste, maintaining inventory accuracy, and sourcing ingredients within budget constraints. The position involves hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling all culinary and back-of-house staff members, fostering teamwork to exceed residents' expectations both in food quality and customer service.
