This particular job opening is for the position of Event Services Manager at the Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC), located in downtown Providence. The venue boasts 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, 20,000 square feet of ballroom space, 23 meeting rooms, and 30,000 square feet of pre-function space, making it a premier location for large-scale conferences, shows, and special events. Positioned at the hub of a vibrant city center within walking distance to restaurants, hotels, museums, and entertainment spots, the RICC offers an ideal setting for dynamic and diverse events.
The Event Services Manager role is crucial in ensuring smooth execution of all events held at the venue. This full-time position comes with an annual salary range between $65,000 and $70,000 and includes a competitive benefits package featuring health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching, and generous paid time off including vacation, sick days, and holidays.
The role’s core responsibilities revolve around comprehensive planning, coordination, and oversight of event operations. The Event Services Manager serves as the primary liaison between promoters, show representatives, and the in-house departments, ensuring that all logistical, staffing, and operational aspects are flawlessly aligned. This includes managing admissions staffing plans and labor, communicating event details timely to all relevant teams, and ensuring accurate event setups in collaboration with box office and operations managers.
Further, the manager is accountable for preparing and distributing critical event documentation such as event data sheets and post-event reports, coordinating with sports tenants on game-day requirements, and facilitating client needs by offering cost estimates and resolving issues swiftly. The position requires working closely with finance for billing, event settlement preparation, monthly account reconciliation, and chargeback dispute assistance.
Aside from the operational duties, the Event Services Manager is also responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising admissions and box office staff, fostering a service-oriented culture, and maintaining excellent client relationships to meet or exceed service level agreements. The role demands strong problem-solving abilities to handle client complaints and improve service processes continually.

                - Bachelor's degree in business, sports management, marketing or related field
 - 4-6 years of ticketing experience preferably with a sports or entertainment facility
