Within this dynamic setting, the Facilities Parking office is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join their team as a Special Events Parking Coordinator. This full-time staff position is based on the University of Denver campus and focuses on managing and coordinating parking services specifically related to university events. The role operates under the Facilities Planning & Management division and involves substantial interaction with the university community and external clients, making excellent customer service skills essential.
The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate the distribution and management of parking permits designated for special events hosted at the university. This includes close collaboration with the Parking Manager and other campus departments to maintain an accurate master calendar of parking events and ensure that parking inventory is utilized efficiently. The position involves daily office operations such as handling multiple phone lines, data entry related to permit purchases and citations, responding to customer inquiries, processing payments, and maintaining records. A significant aspect of the role is adjudicating parking citation appeals, requiring fair and timely resolution to maintain positive relationships with campus members.
The coordinator may also assist in training new office and field personnel, and occasionally step in to perform special event duties in the absence of the primary coordinator. The work environment is fast-paced and can involve unexpected interruptions, requiring the ability to manage stress effectively and maintain professionalism in all interactions. The position necessitates proficiency with technology, including parking management software such as T2 PowerPark FLEX and familiarity with university systems like BANNER.
Compensation for the position falls within an hourly range of $21.50 to $22.50, with a salary grade of 6. The University of Denver offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, retirement plans, paid time off, tuition benefits, and an ECO pass. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a stable and structured schedule.
This role is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma and 2 to 4 years of experience in customer service, billing, or scheduling functions, preferably with experience in parking management. The position demands excellent communication abilities and strong organizational skills to handle complex logistical challenges associated with managing event parking on a busy university campus. Candidates must also have a valid driver’s license and pass a comprehensive background check ensuring a clean record.
