Paterson, NJ, USA, NJ Full-Time $49,400 - $82,400
Abigail Kirsch is a distinguished catering company that originated in the 1970s as a family-owned business and has since grown into one of New York's premier caterers. With a strong focus on hospitality, service, and delicious food, Abigail Kirsch has expanded its reach throughout Connecticut, Westchester, and New York City. The company has built a reputation for delivering exceptional dining experiences and flawlessly executed events, making it a trusted name in the catered events industry across the tri-state area. This full-time, onsite position is part of the Dining & Events segment and offers a competitive compensation range of $75,000 to $80,000. As an Event Manager at Abigail Kirsch, you will play a vital role within the Dining & Events team, managing all aspects of catered events from planning through execution. This role involves close collaboration with clients, venues, vendors, and internal staff to ensure that each event meets the high standards of the company and exceeds client expectations. In this dynamic and rewarding position, you will serve as the primary point of contact throughout the entire event process — from initial planning to on-site management during event setup, execution, and breakdown. Your responsibilities include creating detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), designing timelines and floor plans, coordinating logistics, and preparing comprehensive Supervisor Packets to facilitate flawless communication among the staff. You will work cross-functionally with internal departments such as sales, culinary, warehouse, and staffing teams, as well as external vendors, to secure all necessary rentals and services required for each event. Supporting on-site captains by providing accurate and updated information is also a key part of your role. You must be prepared to identify potential risks and implement contingency plans, ensuring events proceed smoothly even when challenges arise. Leading client-facing production efforts is an important aspect of this role, involving site visits, walkthroughs, tastings, and detailed operational planning. You will also handle any guest or client issues during events, providing timely resolutions or escalating as needed. Conducting thorough post-event evaluations, gathering feedback, and using that information to continuously improve event delivery is crucial to the position. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Catering and other leadership personnel to address operational challenges and develop innovative solutions to enhance event execution. Staying current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices is essential to maintain the company's competitive edge and reputation for excellence. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Catering will further enable you to contribute strategically to the continued success of the company. Abigail Kirsch is part of Elior North America, which is committed to equal opportunity employment and fostering diversity, growth, and development for all employees.
