The Department Manager position at World Wide Wings is a multifaceted leadership role that plays a crucial part in the successful operation of the restaurant. This position oversees specific departments within the restaurant, namely the Heart of House (HOH), Bar, and Hospitality departments, ensuring seamless execution of business operations. Department Managers are essential in managing team members, guiding food and beverage quality, and fostering an engaging and efficient work environment. They are responsible for staffing, training, and succession planning within their departments, aiming to maintain optimal team performance and meet or exceed set staffing guidelines. Additionally, the Department Manager works closely with the General Manager to monitor restaurant performance, address operational challenges, and uphold the highest standards of food quality, guest service, safety, and cleanliness. In the Heart of House department, the manager handles all food and product matters, ensuring that all food prepared meets company standards and vendor communications are handled effectively. They also handle all inventory and equipment functions while maintaining compliance with food safety regulations. The Bar Department Manager focuses on adult beverage operations, managing inventory, ordering, cost controls, and compliance with Responsible Alcohol Service (RAS). The Hospitality Manager is dedicated to the front-of-house service, ensuring an exceptional dining experience, hospitality team member development, and guest satisfaction. Department Managers are also tasked with creating and implementing incentive programs and departmental contests to boost team motivation and participation in company promotions.
