The role available is designed for an individual who will assist technicians at various levels with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair activities for Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB). This entry-level or junior technician position plays a critical supporting role in ensuring the reliability and safety of airport ground equipment. The ideal candidate will participate in preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance tasks such as clearing system jams, performing shift inspections, cleaning, greasing, and making minor electrical or mechanical adjustments under the guidance of senior personnel. The position requires a proactive approach to learning, as candidates will take direction, undergo training, and receive mentorship to develop their technical skills and understanding of repair manuals, schematics, and company procedures.
Working conditions involve operating in confined or elevated spaces utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection gear, highlighting the physical nature of the job. Candidates must be comfortable with physical activities such as climbing, crawling, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying items up to or more than 50 pounds occasionally. The work environment is typically noisy, dusty, and located under the airport terminal, demanding adherence to strict safety protocols and policies governed by both federal and company regulations.
In addition to technical duties, the role also involves administrative responsibilities such as completing work forms and training courses assigned by the company.
