This role is primarily customer-facing with a mix of operational responsibilities that ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the restaurant. You will be part of a dynamic team working under close supervision, perfect for entry-level candidates or those with minimal previous experience. Though no formal degree is strictly required, some high school coursework is preferred to facilitate understanding of instructions and operational procedures. Given the fast-paced nature of food service, the ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness is paramount.
Candidates should possess good interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues. You must demonstrate honesty, reliability, and a positive attitude. Physical demands include prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs), which means you should be prepared for active, on-your-feet work in a lively environment. The job requires attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure during busy shifts, and the capability to work cohesively as part of a team. You will receive thorough training, typically ranging from one to three months under close supervision to build your knowledge of the job’s requirements and to ensure a high standard of customer service.
The work environment may sometimes feature extreme temperatures and noise levels, particularly during peak hours. Patience and endurance are vital as you may work without food or drink during these busy times to maintain food safety standards. Mistakes can lead to dissatisfied customers, potential safety issues, or revenue loss for the franchise. Your key responsibilities will include quickly preparing customer orders accurately and to specification, maintaining consistent food quality and product proportions, operating the cash register efficiently, and assisting with front-line food preparation tasks. In addition, you will be expected to help maintain the cleanliness of the dining room and external areas such as parking lots. Working with kitchen equipment as needed is also part of the role.
