This commitment to a nurturing workplace ensures team members work in a positive, supportive setting where their contributions truly matter. MorningStar Senior Living focuses on creating an atmosphere where every resident is celebrated as a hero and every staff member is valued for their role in providing care with love and respect. The Senior Living Community is seeking a full-time Cook to join their culinary team, responsible for preparing nutritious, attractive, and balanced meals for their residents. As a Cook at MorningStar Senior Living, you will play a vital role in enhancing residents' daily experiences by delivering high-quality meals that meet nutritional and dietary requirements. In this role, you will prepare a wide variety of meals including meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruits, soups, salads, desserts, breads, and pastries in accordance with scheduled menus. You will be responsible for seasoning, cooking, and serving meals that are not only palatable but also visually appealing. The Cook must follow federal and state regulations and established company policies to maintain food safety and hygiene standards. This position requires someone who understands proper food-handling techniques, can estimate food quantities to minimize waste, and is aware of dietary restrictions and portion control guidelines specific to individual residents. Attention to detail is critical as you will prepare foodstuffs for cooking by peeling, washing, trimming, and cutting vegetables and fruits, as well as de-boning and trimming meats and seafood. Taste, smell, and visual inspection will be part of your routine to ensure food meets recipe standards and quality expectations. You will also be tasked with preparing cold items such as sandwiches and beverages, alongside cooking cereals and griddled foods. Joining MorningStar Senior Living means becoming part of a team that values kindness, honesty, fairness, respect, and a genuine love for serving others. The organization supports its employees with robust benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, 401k with matching, and paid time off among others. Career development and tuition reimbursement programs are also available, making this an excellent opportunity for those passionate about culinary arts within the senior care industry.
