T&T Supermarkets is a leading Asian grocery store chain that has been a staple in Canada for over 30 years, beloved by customers for its diverse selection of Asian food products and commitment to quality. Recently, T&T has expanded its horizons by establishing multiple new store locations in the United States, marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory. The launch of its first US flagship store in 2024, located in Bellevue, Washington, within the Marketplace at Factoria, stands out as a monumental achievement. This new store spans an impressive 76,000 square feet, making it the largest Asian specialty supermarket in Washington state. This expansion symbolizes T&T Supermarkets’ dedication to bringing authentic Asian flavors and products closer to American consumers while creating ample career opportunities within the company. Complementing this growth, T&T has set up its regional office in the greater Los Angeles area. This office plays a crucial role in nurturing and expanding T&T’s vendor base by forging valuable partnerships with American food suppliers, enhancing product variety, and supporting sustainable business development. The role of Kitchen Department Manager at T&T Supermarkets is a pivotal leadership position within the store’s operational team. Directly reporting to the Store Manager or their delegate and supervised by the Kitchen Operations Specialist, this position carries the responsibility of managing the daily functions and overall success of the Kitchen Department. The manager will oversee all aspects of department operations, from staff supervision and training to ensuring food safety and product quality. A core part of the role involves controlling the department’s profit and loss, which demands sharp business acumen and the ability to maintain efficient, cost-effective operations. The Kitchen Department Manager will be the driving force behind maintaining exemplary customer service standards by greeting customers warmly and professionally handling inquiries and complaints, thereby upholding T&T’s reputation for excellence. This role also requires strong team leadership skills to support and mentor kitchen staff members, ensuring fair workload distribution, adherence to daily operational checklists, and continual professional growth through hands-on coaching and training. Additionally, the manager is tasked with inventory control, including product ordering, pricing accuracy, and correct labeling, aligned with the company’s merchandising strategies. Ensuring high standards in food freshness, safety, and proper FIFO (first in, first out) practices are also essential, with specific attention to popular items such as BBQ, hot foods, dim sum, and sushi. Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment maintenance to comply with health and safety regulations is a top priority. The Kitchen Department Manager is expected to foster a positive, inclusive work environment rooted in teamwork and respect, leading by example with active participation in hands-on kitchen duties as needed. This role not only demands operational leadership but also adaptability and commitment, with the manager ready to embrace additional responsibilities assigned by superiors to support the department’s efficiency and the overall success of T&T Supermarkets.
