This full-time Cook position is based at the Hillsides Home for Children located at 940 Avenue 64 in Pasadena, California. The role operates on a Wednesday through Sunday schedule, with hours that may vary; additional scheduling details will be provided during the interview process. The position offers an hourly pay rate between $20.00 and $22.00, reflecting a competitive wage scale within the foodservice industry. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items that conform to standardized recipes and food safety guidelines. This entails the accurate portioning and attractive presentation of meals, maintaining correct serving temperatures, and ensuring taste standards are met consistently. The role requires proficiency in kitchen safety and hygiene practices, including proper use of equipment and adherence to health regulations such as HACCP standards. The cook will maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, manage food storage responsibly to prevent waste, and assist with inventory management including ordering and receiving supplies. This role is vital in supporting meal service operations by ensuring that food preparation deadlines and quality expectations are met.
