Adventist HealthCare is currently seeking a dedicated Host/Hostess to join their team at Shady Grove Medical Center. This role is crucial to the patient experience, as the Host/Hostess will provide hospitality services related to patient meal selection, preparation, delivery, and cleanup. The position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively in English, multitask, and work efficiently as part of the healthcare team, including interaction with nursing and other departments. Work hours include weekday shifts from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with alternating weekends requiring morning shifts as early as 6:30 AM.
The Host/Hostess will ensure patient satisfaction by accurately taking meal orders, guiding patients through their meal choices, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining and tray areas. The role also involves handling cart breakdown and stocking tray lines, which contributes to smooth operation in patient meal services. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a healthcare environment and want to make a difference in patients’ daily lives through attentive service and compassionate care.
Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $22.79 per hour, and the position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
