The Cook position at Honda Center offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. This part-time, event-based role is nestled within the Food and Beverage Department of Anaheim Arena Management, LLC. As a Cook, you will be integral to supporting kitchen operations by assisting Chefs and other culinary staff. This role demands a solid understanding of station prep, specific equipment setup, and precise culinary techniques essential for menu production and event execution. At a starting hourly rate of $21.00, this position allows dedicated culinary team members to demonstrate their skills and contribute to the delivery of a memorable dining experience for guests.
The Cook will be responsible for preparing menu items according to recipe guidelines and cooking methods, ensuring that all food served meets the strict quality standards established by AAM. Duties encompass a variety of kitchen functions, including prepping vegetables and fruits, cutting and grinding meats, breading food items, stirring and straining soups and sauces, and meticulous measurement of ingredients. This role necessitates attentiveness to food safety, sanitation protocols, accurate labeling, food temperature monitoring, and strict allergen management, particularly concerning the eight most common food allergens. Collaboration with other operations departments is key to ensuring quality service during each event. Beyond food preparation, the Cook must also engage warmly with guests and team members to foster an atmosphere of hospitality and professionalism.
Successful candidates typically have a minimum of 90 days of experience as a Cook 3 within AAM or equivalent culinary experience. Essential skills include knife proficiency, a general understanding of cooking techniques, excellent organizational and verbal communication skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple kitchen stations. A Cook at the Honda Center should also be prepared to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, endure long periods of standing, and operate efficiently within varying kitchen temperatures.
