Hy-Vee is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Barista to join its Coffee Shop department. This non-exempt position involves preparing and serving coffee and related beverages, handling food safely, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Barista is expected to deliver friendly and efficient service to ensure a positive customer experience, embodying the company’s promise of "a helpful smile in every aisle." The role requires interaction with customers, co-workers, and management, making teamwork and communication essential. Reporting to various management staff including the District Store Director and Coffee Shop Department Manager, the Barista plays a key role in maintaining the coffee shop’s operations and upholding Hy-Vee’s standards. The starting hourly wage for this position ranges from $13.50 to $16.80, depending on experience, and employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen. This role may involve overnight shifts and requires candidates to be at least 18 years old. • Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly
• Must possess clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction, color vision, depth perception and field of vision
• Must be able to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
• Must be able to work overnight shifts
• Employment contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
