The role of Service Leader at Chipotle is pivotal in maintaining and elevating the quality and customer experience within the restaurant. Tasked with supervising the restaurant crew, the Service Leader ensures that high-quality, safe food is served promptly and that all service standards are upheld. This position involves hands-on management of frontline crew members, emphasizing excellent customer service, food safety, and quality control. The Service Leader works primarily on their feet during shifts and is expected to proactively identify and address tasks to support smooth restaurant operations.
Key responsibilities include overseeing food preparation and serving, resolving food quality issues, supporting rigorous food safety practices—such as monitoring hand washing, glove changes, time and temperature controls, shelf life, and daily safety checklists—and ensuring compliance with company standards and health department regulations. Additionally, the Service Leader manages crew schedules, breaks, shift meetings, and cross-training programs to develop and support high-performing teams. Administrative duties like banking, cash handling policies, office paperwork, and supply management are also integral to the role.
To succeed as a Service Leader, candidates should embrace Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy and bring knowledge of food safety, cash handling, and restaurant operations. Experience in a restaurant environment is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the workplace. A high school diploma is required, demonstrating foundational educational attainment.
The position offers a competitive base pay ranging from $22.85 to $25.44 per hour, supplemented by digital tips.
