The role of Education Coordinator - Brenner FIT Chef is a part-time PRN position based at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC, specifically within the Brenner FIT program. This unique role supports the organization's mission to promote health and wellness through educational cooking classes and training initiatives. The position involves working primarily on weekday evenings from 5 pm to 8 pm for approximately three hours per week. The Education Coordinator will take an active role in the development and execution of Brenner FIT cooking classes, relying heavily on culinary expertise and teaching skills to plan, lead, and manage cooking educational sessions. This role requires a positive attitude, flexibility, dependability, and the ability to function well in a team environment.
Key responsibilities include assisting dietitians with planning menus and recipes, testing recipes, leading the preparation and cleanup process for classes, and training or directing volunteers and students. The coordinator will also lead the cooking classes, giving step-by-step instructions on food preparation and supervise participants to ensure all food safety guidelines are strictly followed. This hands-on role demands formal culinary training and experience not only in cooking but in mentoring or teaching culinary skills. ServSafe certification is required to meet food safety standards. The position offers a pay range of $26.10 to $39.15 per hour, reflecting qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
