The Dual Director Engineering role at this hotel is an exempt managerial position responsible for overseeing the facilities maintenance function across multiple properties as assigned. This includes the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of all equipment on site. You will be directing and supervising the maintenance staff under the request of the General Manager, ensuring that all buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems receive appropriate care, including renovations, expansions, and improvements. This position requires managing a team with at least three full-time associates or their equivalents and involves performing administrative, executive, and professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time. It demands the use of discretion and independent judgment in decision-making.
As Dual Director Engineering, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing maintenance policies and procedures, prioritizing and responding to maintenance requests efficiently. You will be responsible for creating and adhering to preventative maintenance schedules, inspecting facilities regularly to anticipate maintenance needs, and ensuring that all repairs comply with internal policies and external regulations. Documentation and record-keeping play a vital role in this position as well.
Leadership is a critical component of this role, with responsibilities including hiring, performance management, and termination decisions. You will work collaboratively with senior management in strategic planning and goal setting for the maintenance department or function. Upholding company standards in interactions with guests and employees is essential; you will foster a service-oriented, courteous, and attentive culture in all maintenance encounters. Additionally, you will maintain compliance with company attendance policies, appearance standards, and communication protocols. The ability to handle high-pressure situations professionally while solving workplace problems proactively is key to success in this role.
