Wawa is currently seeking a Dispatcher to join its Corporate Manufacturing and Engineering Department. This position operates on the 2nd shift, specifically Tuesday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Dispatcher plays a pivotal role in managing the logistics and routing activities for drivers delivering to Wawa stores and wholesale accounts, ensuring maximum efficiency and timely deliveries. A key responsibility is the supervision of drivers, including assisting in daily assignments, handling route adjustments, and addressing any delivery or operational issues that arise. The role demands a high level of communication as the Dispatcher serves as a central point of contact for coordinating with stores, drivers, and other departments, ensuring smooth delivery operations.
This role not only involves managing daily route planning using advanced computer systems such as SAP, Roadshow, and Xatanet/XRS but also emphasizes compliance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations, driver coaching, and maintaining operational records. The Dispatcher will also be responsible for ensuring safety practices and regulatory compliance, investigating incidents, and maintaining a seamless handover process between shifts. Additionally, the position requires providing exceptional customer service, resolving issues quickly, and maintaining strong working relationships internally and externally. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical capabilities, leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
