The role of Chef Manager In-Training (CMIT) at Belmont Village Senior Living offers a unique leadership opportunity tailored to individuals passionate about culinary arts and senior care. This full-time position, with a salary range from $68,640 to $72,640 annually, is structured as a comprehensive 6-month training program designed to nurture future executive culinary leaders within the organization. The program provides a blend of immersive on-the-job training, structured mentorship, and self-paced learning designed to develop both technical culinary skills and essential leadership qualities.
During the CMIT program, trainees will work alongside experienced Chef Manager Preceptors in vibrant assisted living and memory care settings. This role involves hands-on experience managing high-volume dining services and recipe-based meal preparations while maintaining hospitality-focused food service standards. Trainees will also learn how to lead and manage food service teams effectively and comply with all regulatory requirements, always upholding Belmont Village’s mission to enrich seniors' lives.                 - High school degree or equivalent
 - Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience
 - Minimum of 2 years food service experience preferably in a-la-carte or banquet service
 - Interest in working with older population
 - Experience with food service Point of Sale (POS) systems
 - Proficient in workplace technology including Microsoft Office Suite
 - Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour operation including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays
 - Must communicate effectively in written and verbal English
 - Consistent and reliable attendance
 - Open and willing to relocate after training
 - Self-directed learner with strong leadership passion
