The role involves the safe operation of Class A or B Hazmat vehicles to transport individual gas cylinders to various Airgas locations. The driver must maintain accurate load manifests and documentation, communicate effectively with customers, and provide delivery and cost information. Responsibilities also include monitoring cylinder levels to prevent emergencies, fostering strong customer relationships, and utilizing analytical problem-solving skills to address customer inquiries. Safe loading, unloading, delivery, and retrieval of cylinders and hardgoods are routine duties. Candidates will receive forklift training and certification, with the opportunity to obtain HazMat endorsement within 60 days if not already licensed. This role demands a focus on safety compliance, adherence to company policies, and the ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures. Physical requirements include routinely lifting weights ranging from 25 to 75 pounds and occasionally lifting over 100 pounds.
