The Box Office Supervisor position is a vital temporary role at the Alamodome, reporting directly to the Box Office Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing daily box office operations, including managing financial transactions, scheduling and supervising all box office staff, and providing accurate and timely information to patrons, promoters, and other stakeholders regarding current and upcoming events. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Working primarily indoors within an office setting, the Box Office Supervisor will ensure compliance with municipal policies while maintaining a secure cash handling environment. This position operates on an event-driven schedule, which includes shift work, weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary.
Key responsibilities include creating and editing electronic event manifests and maps, utilizing ticketing software systems such as Ticketmaster to manage ticket inventories, coordinating cash requirements, and preparing daily sales reports and transaction journals. The supervisor will also conduct audits to verify revenue accuracy, authorize refunds and exchanges, and provide real-time sales and event reports to senior management and promoters. This role requires exceptional customer service skills to address patron inquiries and resolve complaints effectively, maintaining the venue's high standards for guest satisfaction.
Candidates for this position should have an associate's degree preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least three years of progressively responsible experience in box office operations. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Ticketmaster systems and experience at a large event venue or facility.
