The Account Manager position within The Blood Connection’s Donor Resources Department is a pivotal role dedicated to managing and expanding blood drive accounts within a designated territory. This role is tasked with not only meeting but exceeding collection goals by effectively managing existing sponsors and identifying new potential donors. The Account Manager must work closely with the Donor Resources management team to align territories with divisional needs and to optimize resource allocation.
Key responsibilities include personalized support to blood drive coordinators through detailed planning, marketing, and communication efforts, ensuring a seamless donor experience. The Account Manager employs varied recruitment tactics, encourages creative donor campaigns, and utilizes the full range of marketing tools available to maximize blood drive participation. Exceptional organizational skills are essential for strategic planning of blood drives, meeting coordination, and tracking donor involvement.
Additionally, this role involves community education and outreach, reflecting The Blood Connection’s commitment to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation. The Account Manager participates in health fairs, community events, and presentations to advocate the organization's mission. This position also requires strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with sponsors, donors, and colleagues across multiple levels and diverse backgrounds.

                - College degree preferred
 - outside sales and/or marketing experience of 2 years preferred or related experience
 - public speaking ability to sell The Blood Connection to all groups in the community by carrying out message of community service and the necessity of participation and support
 - experience with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
 - valid driver’s license with no major infractions and dependable transportation
 - ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers
 - ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
 - excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
 - strong computer skills
 - ability to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment
 - ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers
