As part of the HHM Hotels family, the Bistro Server plays a vital role in delivering outstanding food and beverage service in alignment with the brand’s guest service standards and sustainability initiatives. This full-time position involves providing courteous and friendly service, ensuring guests' needs are met efficiently while maintaining high levels of professionalism. The Bistro Server sets up necessary supplies at the beginning of each shift and monitors the work area to keep it stocked and ready at all times.
The role requires taking customer orders accurately, processing payments, and communicating any special dietary requests or allergies to the kitchen staff. In addition, the Bistro Server supports food and beverage preparation, including making coffee, beverages, and even alcoholic drinks when necessary. They also assist with ingredient preparation tasks such as portioning, chopping, and storage to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Flexibility is key in this role, as servers may be required to perform additional duties like bartending or bussing during busy periods or staffing shortages. The Bistro Server ensures cashier responsibilities are carried out meticulously by counting banks, completing reports, resolving discrepancies, and securing funds in line with company policies. Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work areas, adhering to safety standards such as OSHA and MSDS, and following all regulations related to the responsible serving of alcoholic beverages are imperative components of this position.
Beyond the day-to-day tasks, the Bistro Server actively participates in HHM Hotels' EarthView sustainability program, driving environmentally responsible practices within the workplace.
