The 92 Force Support Squadron, Alder House, located at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, is seeking a dedicated and skilled bartender to join its team on a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) basis. The Force Support Squadron operates as part of the U.S. Air Force’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities, providing vital support services to active-duty members, their families, and other eligible patrons. The Alder House is a full-service bar and gathering place that offers patrons a comfortable environment to relax, socialize, and enjoy quality beverages prepared by experienced staff. This position is a flexible intermittent role with guaranteed work hours ranging from 0 to 40 per week, depending on the operational needs of the facility. The primary responsibility of the bartender is to mix and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a full-service bar. The bartender will prepare classic and exotic drinks, including Margaritas, Zombies, Singapore Slings, and other specialty cocktails following a variety of established recipes. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and strong customer service skills.
The bartender will also be responsible for handling cash transactions, maintaining inventory accountability, and ensuring the bar operates smoothly and meets all regulatory and safety standards. Duties include washing glasses and bar equipment, preparing garnishes, and assisting with stocking the bar, potentially supporting catered functions. The successful candidate must be able to identify intoxicated or unruly patrons and take appropriate measures to resolve issues or escalate them to management.
Candidates for this position must meet specific physical requirements, including the ability to lift moderate weights and stand for prolonged periods. A Food Handlers Certificate is mandatory, along with meeting state and legal age requirements for the sale of alcoholic beverages. A background investigation and a favorable pre-employment physical are prerequisites for employment.
