The Barback role is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of the beverage area by providing friendly, efficient, and excellent service to guests. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Assistant General Manager, this position supports bartenders by replenishing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that the bar is well-stocked and ready to meet customer needs. This role requires adaptability, physical stamina, and a passion for customer service. As a Barback at Eataly, the successful candidate will assist bartenders whenever necessary, replenish beverages, ice, glassware, roll-ups, plates, and other supplies from the warehouse regularly. Maintaining a sanitary, organized environment is a priority, and the Barback is responsible for clearing used glassware, china, and silverware promptly to ensure a clean and professional setting at all times. The position contributes directly to the guest experience, ensuring that service runs smoothly and efficiently. This role demands a flexible schedule, including availability to work nights and weekends, as well as the physical ability to stand and move quickly for extended periods, often up to eight hours at a stretch. The Barback must also be able to perform tasks that require bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to comply with beverage service regulations. A basic understanding of beer and wine complements this role well, though comprehensive training and product education are also provided.
