This position is for a Banquet Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and executing banquet events from planning through to breakdown. The Banquet Manager will work closely with the Director of Food and Beverage, along with the Catering, Sales, and Culinary departments, to ensure the smooth operation of banquet services and successful fulfillment of client requirements. The role entails direct supervision, coaching, and training of banquet service staff to maintain high standards of service and hospitality.
The Banquet Manager's duties include overseeing event setups according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), coordinating audio-visual equipment requirements, managing staff shifts and training, and collaborating with other departments to ensure quality service. This individual will act as a key liaison between hotel staff and clients, managing communication with meeting planners and addressing any last-minute changes to events. They will also supervise the setup of meeting rooms, food and beverage timing with the culinary team, inventories, and the proper handling of equipment such as china, glassware, and linens.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Banquet Manager is expected to maintain excellent organizational skills, provide leadership, and embody the hospitality standards set by Azul Hospitality. Physical demands include the ability to work in moderate to extreme temperatures, manage heavy equipment, and perform tasks requiring dexterity and mobility. Proficiency in communication, leadership, and computer skills, including knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS, is essential.
This role requires at least 1 to 3 years of high-volume banquet service experience, preferably in a hotel or resort setting, with certification in Safe Server Alcohol and Food service. Candidates must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company grooming standards. The position demands flexible attendance and schedule adaptability to meet the business needs of the hotel, with a focus on teamwork, customer relations, and issue resolution. - High school or equivalent education
- 1 to 3 years of high-volume banquet service experience
- must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol
- Safe Server Alcohol and Food certification required
