This position primarily involves the scaling, mixing, and baking of various bakery goods, ensuring that stock levels meet demand while maintaining the cleanliness and attractive appearance of the bakery section. The work shifts generally range between 6 to 8 hours and are scheduled between 3:00 am and 10:00 pm, requiring flexibility and commitment to varied hours. This bakery role is rich in responsibilities, from mixing icing and toppings, operating baking machines, and producing breads, croissants, and cakes, to packaging and labeling products in compliance with company and legal standards. It requires a hands-on approach to maintaining hygiene, safety, and sanitation within the department while upholding an atmosphere of enthusiastic and friendly customer service. The employee in this role will interact directly with customers, take special orders, personalize cakes, and engage in sales techniques to promote bakery products effectively. Safety and efficiency are of utmost importance in this role. The employee must handle heavy ingredients, operate various bakery equipment, and perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy racks of products. Additional responsibilities include maintaining inventory records, adhering to food safety certifications, and demonstrating knowledge about product perishability and legal labeling and packaging requirements.   • Work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Push and pull approximately 100 lb of product on racks
  • Lift objects up to 50 lbs
  • Conduct visual inspections, read and follow production guides and recipes
  • Operate kitchen utensils and equipment with manual dexterity and hand eye coordination
  • Maintain composure with customers and co-workers
  • Reach overhead to place product on racks
  • Stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods
  • Bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel and perform repetitive movements
  • Handle bakery ingredients safely
  • Perform basic math and compute weights and measures
  • Work with mental alertness around baking procedures and equipment hazards
  • Respond to audible timers
  • Perform duties around equipment emitting heat
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures
