The role of Baker at Hollywood Casino & Hotel, a part of the PENN Entertainment family, offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the culinary operations of a major hospitality destination. This part-time position has a starting pay rate of $18.00 per hour, with shifts beginning between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM. As a Baker, you will be responsible for producing and decorating a wide array of baked goods for various property outlets, including pastries, cakes, pies, breads, cookies, and plated desserts. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to follow established recipes accurately, ensuring consistency and high quality across all products. The Baker will work with specialized equipment such as scales, mixers, steam kettles, sheeters, glaze machines, and confectionary tools, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the baking process. The role involves forecasting and preparing ingredients, loading and unloading ovens, and rotating stock to uphold quality assurance. Additionally, you may provide support to Sous Chefs and assist in multiple kitchen areas as needed. This position demands flexibility in working different shifts, including weekends and holidays, and requires physical stamina to handle equipment, lift substantial weights, and stand for prolonged periods. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen/bakery equipment
• Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends
• Must pass background check
• Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push, and pull a minimum of 100 lbs. in a cart
• Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder while carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and/or entire shift
• Flexibility in fingers and hands to utilize kitchen/bakery equipment, bottles/glasses/knives/etc
