The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity within a vibrant food-service environment that prioritizes teamwork, quality, and customer satisfaction. As a Kitchen Leader, you are entrusted with the responsibility of preparing delicious food by grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring that all kitchen processes meet Chipotle’s high standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining food quality and safety, organizing and stocking the kitchen, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintained. Beyond managing the kitchen workflow, the Kitchen Leader takes on the important task of developing and training team members into future Kitchen Leaders, fostering growth and leadership within the crew.
The position demands an energetic and hands-on approach where being busy and proactive is the norm. Kitchen Leaders serve as role models and mentors, promoting a strong team dynamic not only among kitchen staff but also between back-of-house and front-of-house crew members. The role involves routine monitoring of food inventory, minimizing waste, and addressing any food quality issues that arise. It also requires strict adherence to sanitation procedures and safety guidelines to prevent injuries and accidents. Moreover, completing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and managing inventory rotation (FIFO) are part of the daily responsibilities.
