We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager/Chief to lead our engineering department. This is a full-time salaried position, offering a competitive pay rate of $37.50 per hour, equating to an annual salary of $78,000. The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the entire hotel facility. This includes supervising maintenance personnel, managing ongoing room maintenance programs, and ensuring the proper functioning of all mechanical and plumbing systems, groundskeeping, and pool/spa maintenance.
The Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all repairs and preventive maintenance are carried out efficiently and effectively, maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of the hotel environment. This individual will coordinate and supervise outside contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maintain detailed records and reports of maintenance activities. Additionally, the role involves budgeting responsibilities, supply ordering, and safety compliance to meet all corporate and legal standards.
Beyond technical expertise, the role requires strong leadership skills to hire, train, and manage the engineering team, fostering a positive work atmosphere and ensuring all safety and operational protocols are adhered to. The Maintenance Manager will also head the hotel's Safety Committee, promoting a culture of safety and preparedness among employees. Effective communication is a critical component, with responsibilities including coordination with other departments, documenting maintenance work, and proactively addressing maintenance needs.
This position demands a professional who is adaptable, able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and can handle the physical demands associated with maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various technical areas including HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and small appliance repair, along with having solid reasoning skills to tackle unique challenges that arise in a dynamic hotel environment.
