The role of Associate Project Manager in Aviation Planning at Hanson is a dynamic and critical position focused on contributing to complex airport planning projects. This full-time position, based in Indianapolis, IN with hybrid remote flexibility, offers a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $130,000 per year. The successful candidate will prepare various airport-related plans and studies, including master plans, obstruction analysis, forecasting, noise and environmental evaluations, and sustainability assessments. They will engage in smart airport planning initiatives and play an essential part in writing grant applications. The role requires effective communication skills to present technical data to government entities and the public, alongside participation in proposal preparation and relationship building with clients and regulatory bodies. Travel to clients and agencies for project-related activities will be expected, as well as occasional overtime to meet deadlines. The Associate Project Manager will also collaborate with project teams to ensure success and contribute to an array of aviation planning assignments and responsibilities.   • Bachelor’s degree in planning, aviation management, civil engineering or a relevant field
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant airport planning experience with increasing responsibilities and project leadership
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of FAA advisory circulars and orders
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, airport boards, FAA and regulatory organizations
  • Must be able to communicate complex technical concepts to technical staff, public officials, and the general public in both written and oral format
  • Must be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills
  • Experience in complex and controversial projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or ArcGIS
  • Experience with AEDT and/or AviPlan Turn preferred
  • Experience with managing project financials preferred
