The College is currently seeking a part-time Air Traffic Control Instructor to join its aviation department. This role is designed for experienced professionals who bring extensive background in Air Traffic Control operations, especially those with FAA certifications and instructional experience. The position involves assisting lead instructors in delivering air traffic control lab-based courses that encompass non-radar simulation, enroute radar simulation, and TRACON simulation. These specialized courses follow the rigorous standards set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic-College Training Initiative, ensuring students are trained according to the highest industry requirements.
As part of the role, the instructor will participate actively in professional development opportunities to remain up-to-date with evolving FAA protocols, aviation technology, and instructional methodologies. The position also involves collaboration in designing course materials that align with current industry standards, contributing to curriculum development and potential course revisions to enhance learning outcomes. Beyond the classroom, the role supports departmental and college-wide governance initiatives, reflecting Aims Community College's commitment to shared leadership and continuous improvement.
Compensation for this part-time role starts at $34.57 per hour, with some benefits provided depending on the number of hours worked.
