The role of Electrical Assembler I at Amphenol CIT is an entry-level position aimed at individuals interested in developing a career in cable assembly and aerospace manufacturing. Primarily, this role involves assembling simple point-to-point wire and fiber optic cables, following detailed engineering drawings and procedural instructions to achieve a high level of product quality and productivity. The assembly process requires proficiency with a range of basic hand tools including heat guns, hand crimpers, power screwdrivers, solder pots, rulers, pinning machines, and automatic wire strippers. The role demands excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to accurately identify wires using color codes as well as the physical ability to stand, sit, reach, bend, and lift weights up to 50 pounds independently, and handle heavier loads using mechanical assistance.
Certification in soldering significantly enhances pay and career progression within the company, with an initial wage of $15 per hour increasing to $17 per hour post-certification.
