The role of Air Traffic Control (ATC) Operational Subject Matter Expert at Cavan Solutions centers around providing specialized expertise in air traffic control functions, operations, and systems in support of key aviation initiatives led by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This position involves significant contribution to the modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) and the implementation of Next Generation (NextGen) air traffic management concepts. The successful candidate will provide operational and program support for ATM modernization initiatives such as time-based separation and performance-based navigation (PBN), ensuring the development and validation of operational concepts align with safety and efficiency goals. The ATC Operational Subject Matter Expert will analyze existing and proposed air traffic concepts to identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies. They will be involved in the field testing of research concepts, NAS automation systems, and air traffic procedures, aiding the evolution of air traffic management technologies and methodologies. Their responsibilities will also include creating, reviewing, and evaluating air traffic procedures, preparing detailed documentation, presentations, and reports to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
