We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Appointment Scheduler to join our growing team. This role is vital to maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our clinic's appointment scheduling system while directly engaging with patients and healthcare professionals. The Appointment Scheduler will be responsible for managing a high volume of inbound calls, scheduling patient appointments for OCR physicians according to departmental and physician-specific requirements, and ensuring seamless communication between various departments. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with computer systems, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for instructing patients on required documentation, addressing appointment-related inquiries, handling cancellations and reschedules, and coordinating with medical assistants to manage schedule changes for same-day or emergent patient requests.
The ideal candidate should have foundational knowledge of medical terminology and orthopedic specialties, exceptional customer service skills, and familiarity with scheduling software such as Centricity is advantageous. - High school graduate or equivalent
- one year of previous medical appointment scheduling preferred
- familiarity with scheduling software Centricity a plus
- demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- orthopedic specialty a plus
- knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- knowledge of proper phone etiquette and customer service concepts
- core competencies in communication, customer service, technology use, adaptability, teamwork and confidentiality
