The role of Operations Agent 1 is situated within our Fulfillment & Logistics Operations Execution stream and plays a vital part in managing and executing inventory, warehouse, and fulfillment functions. This position primarily focuses on freight forwarding activities across different transportation modes in response to customer requests. The Operations Agent 1 ensures operational excellence and delivers high-quality customer service while maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) at the station level. Key responsibilities include tracking and tracing outbound shipments; inspecting freight; contracting new carriers when necessary; assigning carriers and managing load tenders; and communicating shipment status and any issues with customers and other stations. The role demands a proactive approach to customer service and the ability to respond promptly in a high-volume, dynamic environment. Additional duties involve data entry into transportation management systems, quoting and invoicing international shipments, domestic air and ground routing including Canada, negotiating freight rates, and developing collaborative relationships with carriers. The position also offers opportunities to identify new logistics and freight prospects and design efficient carrier solutions to support internal and external customers. Candidates for this role should expect to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekend on-call rotations, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to meeting operational demands. The position requires a mix of technical skills, administrative competence, and practical knowledge gained through job-related training and on-the-job experience.
