The Aircraft Dispatcher Apprenticeship Program at Republic Airways is a rigorous and rewarding training initiative aimed at equipping apprentices with the essential knowledge and skills required for aircraft dispatching. This position is based in the system operations control center, which is the operational heartbeat of the airline. Aircraft dispatchers are responsible for planning flight routes, filing flight plans with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and communicating critical safety information to pilots during flights. They help navigate weather challenges, regulatory requirements, and other operational issues to ensure the safety of the crew, passengers, and aircraft. Apprentices in this program must relocate to Indianapolis at their own expense, commit to full-time training over six to eight weeks without interruption, and agree to work as an Aircraft Dispatcher for at least two years following successful certification and onboarding.
During the apprenticeship, participants will earn an hourly wage of 15 dollars, progressing to a starting pay of 22 dollars per hour upon completion and official hire. Eligible candidates must be at least 23 years old, fluent in English, and capable of passing FAA background checks and drug tests.
