This role is crucial in ensuring that ramp manpower is effectively managed, supporting the day-to-day operations at the airport ramp.
The Resource Planner at Menzies Aviation plays a vital role in overseeing ramp manpower, managing resources in real-time to optimize operational efficiency. This position requires an individual who can work well under pressure, assigning Ramp Crews as operational demands shift throughout the day. The Resource Planner will be responsible for tracking personnel deployment, ensuring safety and security compliance, monitoring operational standards, and maintaining clear communication with airport customers and various stakeholders. This role is dynamic and requires someone who can adapt quickly to changing conditions and provide accurate, real-time updates to shift managers and operations leadership.
Key responsibilities include daily and hourly management of ramp manpower, coordinating closely with the resource clerk to align staffing needs with flight schedules. The planner obtains inbound and outbound flight information from all resources, serving as a central point of contact for operational communications involving Ramp Teams, Shift Managers, the Operations Manager, Ramp Manager, and Station Director. It also involves entering flight closeout load information into operational systems, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining vigilant communication through radio channels. The role demands proactive monitoring of team performance and timely corrective action to address any shortfalls.
Beyond personnel management, the Resource Planner liaises with airline station managers, airport operations staff, handling agents, customs, immigration, security officials, and other key stakeholders to streamline operations and resolve any issues promptly. The role often requires working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, to align with operational requirements. Physical demands include capabilities such as operating motorized equipment, frequent bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, stacking, and kneeling in confined spaces, reflecting the hands-on nature of ramp operations.

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- possess and maintain a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
- pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
- ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
- must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively
- must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
- pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
- must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- must have high school diploma, GED or six months experience as a Ramp or Passenger Service Agent
- prior Passenger Service, Ramp /Airline experience required
