The Construction Project Safety Manager position at GES is a vital role aimed at advancing and overseeing the global construction safety contractor management program. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range from $74,800 to $163,100 annually, reflecting geographic cost of labor differences and the candidate's qualifications and experience. The role demands collaboration with diverse teams including construction, procurement, legal, execution leaders, and workplace health and safety (WHS) personnel. Situated within the Construction, Operations Engineering, and Startup teams, this manager will directly influence safety practices that safeguard the workforce, optimize contractor processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
The successful candidate will manage critical functions such as the Contractor Pre-qualification Process, monitoring safety metrics and KPIs across North American GES projects. They will also oversee third-party Safety Observers to ensure contracts are adhered to with a consistent focus on contractor safety roles and responsibilities. This individual will work to maintain and enhance safety protocols, support project managers in managing safety audits, incident investigations, and follow-ups, and actively participate in site visits to observe and promote workplace safety. The role requires a dynamic professional capable of driving program improvements through data-driven approaches and staying abreast of evolving industry standards and regulations.
In addition to tactical execution, the Construction Project Safety Manager will contribute strategically by developing and communicating safety expectations, supporting contract management from a safety perspective, and collaborating on ongoing development of WHS construction safety management standards. Regular reporting to leadership through detailed business updates ensures transparency and continuous improvement.
This role requires travel up to 50% of the time nationally, offering the candidate a chance to engage directly with multiple sites and teams.
