Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a vibrant, mission-driven non-profit organization located in the Boise National Forest near Boise, Idaho. As one of the premier four-season mountain recreation destinations in the region, Bogus Basin offers a unique blend of outdoor adventure and community spirit. The organization is rooted in the values of accessibility, affordability, and community engagement, ensuring that every visitor has the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational activities available. Bogus Basin is dedicated to reinvesting all earnings back into the mountain and its people rather than distributing profits to shareholders, which creates a strong sense of purpose and commitment to environmental stewardship and public service. As a seasonal winter operation, Bogus Basin draws visitors from all around for skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and other winter sports while providing employees the exhilarating experience of mountain life combined with the convenience of living in Boise — a dynamic city recognized for its rapid growth, vibrant arts, and dining scene, and overall high quality of life. Employees benefit from the community-focused environment and the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities year-round. The Winter Food Service Associate role at Bogus Basin is pivotal to delivering excellent guest service throughout the winter season. This role involves a range of food and beverage functions designed to create a pleasant and seamless dining experience for guests. Working in fast-paced restaurant environments both indoors and outdoors, Winter Food Service Associates operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently, prepare and cook menu items safely, and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in compliance with all applicable laws and health codes. Interaction with guests is an essential aspect of the position, requiring associates to provide friendly customer service, offer menu recommendations, answer questions, and escalate any issues appropriately to supervisors or managers. The role demands multitasking abilities, manual dexterity, and stamina, as it includes handling cash transactions, maintaining stocking levels for food and beverage items, keeping workspaces clean, and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere through training and support. Employees must also promote guest safety by following safe work practices and reporting any unsafe conditions encountered during their shifts. This seasonal position requires availability from mid-October through mid-May, including weekends, ensuring consistent staffing during peak winter months. Candidates must be at least 19 years old and able to obtain an alcohol server training certificate within two weeks of hire. Passing a background check is mandatory. Working at Bogus Basin offers more than just a job; it presents an opportunity to be part of a community that values kindness, respect, professionalism, and fun. Beyond compensation and the chance to reconnect with nature, employees receive additional benefits including free or discounted ski passes and resort discounts for themselves and their families.
