This full-time Pastry Baker role in Santa Monica offers an hourly rate of $20 per hour plus tips and requires availability to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. As a member of the pastry team, the baker is responsible for executing all tasks related to assembling, mixing, and finishing pastry and viennoiserie products following TARTINE’s vision, culture, and team values. The Pastry Baker works closely with pastry management to learn and execute recipes, maintain the high product quality for which TARTINE is known, and help maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Bakers will create prep lists to ensure efficient production and communication between shifts and will assist teammates to meet the demands of a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The position requires physical stamina and good communication skills to succeed and thrive within the team.                 - Be 18 years of age or older
 - must have a high school diploma, formal culinary education is preferred, but not required
 - have a current California Food Handlers Certificate
 - have a minimum of 1 years' experience in kitchen preparation
 - be able to communicate and understand English and a reasonable amount of Spanish
 - have effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player
 - be well groomed, maintain proper hygiene, good posture, and have required uniform and tools
 - display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Tartine
 - possess excellent basic math skills
 - be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (minimum of 8 hours a day)
 - able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
 - be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds
 - have stamina and availability to work at least 40 hours per week, including weekends and some holidays
