Located in Proctor Tacoma, Metropolitan Market is seeking an experienced and dedicated leader for their Beer & Wine Department. This position is crucial in managing all aspects of the department, including product management, merchandising, profit and loss control, and staff development. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and passion for beer, wine, and related products, alongside proven leadership and retail management skills. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range between $24.00 and $27.00 per hour, along with comprehensive benefits that support team members' health, professional development, and work-life balance. The Beer & Wine Department Leader will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards in product selection and presentation, ensuring that product displays and merchandising contribute to an engaging customer experience. This role also includes order management for all beer and wine products, scheduling night crew activities, and establishing budgets for sales, gross profit, labor, and supplies. Monitoring pricing strategies to hit budgeted profit goals, executing promotions, and enforcing product rotation requirements are also essential duties. In addition to these operational responsibilities, the Beer & Wine Department Leader is expected to provide exceptional customer service by leveraging product knowledge to educate and assist customers effectively, increasing sales and satisfaction. Strong leadership skills will guide the team through performance coaching, training, and feedback to foster a collaborative and motivated work environment. Managing physical inventories, preventing loss, and aligning with store leadership directives are also vital aspects of the role.
