The Maintenance Technician position at Sonesta plays a critical role in upholding the quality and safety of the hotel’s physical plant, including the building, equipment, and surrounding grounds. This role involves performing general maintenance tasks such as repairs, preventative maintenance, and routine inspections across all hotel areas. The Maintenance Technician ensures that the hotel’s infrastructure functions efficiently and safely, contributing directly to the overall guest experience. Responsibilities include maintaining electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, furniture refurbishment, and grounds upkeep, all performed with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. The Maintenance Technician must also actively communicate with management about any hazardous situations or security threats, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.                 - Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience
 - Previous background from the extended stay industry or apartment building maintenance preferred
 - Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics
 - Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
 - Reading and writing abilities to follow instructions and read equipment manuals including safety information
 - Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
 - Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
 - Valid driver's license
 - Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
 - Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
 - Will be required to regularly use commercial chemicals
 - Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds
 - Will be required to work mornings, evening, weekends, and holidays
