The Maintenance Technician position at Sonesta plays a critical role in upholding the quality and safety of the hotel’s physical plant, including the building, equipment, and surrounding grounds. • Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous background from the extended stay industry or apartment building maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
• Reading and writing abilities to follow instructions and read equipment manuals including safety information
• Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
• Valid driver's license
• Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
• Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
• Will be required to regularly use commercial chemicals
• Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds
• Will be required to work mornings, evening, weekends, and holidays
