The Waldorf Astoria New York is currently seeking a highly skilled Waldorf Cook - Pastry to join its culinary team during this exciting new chapter. This role is critical in the hotel's mission to achieve Forbes 5-Star recognition by delivering world-class pastry creations that reflect the highest level of craftsmanship and luxury dining sophistication. As a Waldorf Cook - Pastry, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing an assortment of refined pastries, breads, viennoiseries, and desserts, along with intricate chocolate and sugar artistry. The position demands precision, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, as the pastries crafted here contribute directly to the overall guest experience and the hotel's reputation for culinary distinction. The role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $32.0321 to $42.7094 per hour, depending on specialized experience. 
In this position, the Waldorf Cook - Pastry will execute meticulously crafted desserts and specialty amenities, supporting both à la carte dining and banquet functions. The role requires collaboration with the culinary team to innovate while honoring classic pastry techniques, ensuring consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation. Maintaining exemplary standards of food safety, cleanliness, proper ingredient storage, and inventory management are essential components of the job.                 - High school diploma or equivalent
 - Proven experience in high-end pastry kitchens such as Forbes 5-Star or Michelin-star establishments
 - Demonstrated expertise in chocolate work, sugar work, viennoiserie, and plated desserts
 - Passion for delivering exemplary hospitality and fine dining experiences
 - Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
 - Strong organizational and communication skills
 - Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
 - Valid food handler's card or willingness to obtain prior to employment
