This role is for a General Manager in Sodexo Corporate Services, overseeing the brand-new dining experience at Markel Headquarters located in Glen Allen, Virginia. This is a unique and exciting leadership opportunity to manage a newly opened café and coffee bistro, along with a conference dining center dedicated to serving high-level corporate clients. The General Manager will lead a dedicated team of 7 staff members, including an Executive Chef, driving operational excellence and delivering on customer satisfaction. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., with minimal evenings and rare weekend work, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Compensation is tailored to the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training, ensuring fair and equitable pay. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who enjoys collaborating with teams and clients to innovate and provide superior dining services in a corporate environment. As General Manager, you will be responsible for full financial oversight, including managing food and labor costs, as well as forecasting and planning to achieve operational goals. You will contribute to menu development and costing in partnership with culinary leadership and oversee catering for daily service and special events. Ensuring HACCP compliance and food safety standards is a critical part of the role, alongside providing constructive feedback and mentorship to your team. You will also have the responsibility of building and nurturing strong client relationships while managing day-to-day operations to maintain a seamless and memorable dining experience.
