The Machine Operator II role is a vital position within the company, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery on the production line during the 1st shift, which starts at 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday. This role is centered around setting up, adjusting, changing over, repairing, and operating all equipment to meet product needs while adhering strictly to food safety, food quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The operator is tasked with monitoring equipment to ensure consistency and efficiency in production, performing process control and quality checks, and supporting maintenance and troubleshooting activities to resolve equipment issues promptly. The role also involves precision tasks such as operating date coders, verifying case code dates, and assisting Quality Assurance in product sampling. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in line with OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols is critical to success in this position. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work well in fast-paced, team-oriented settings. The operator will also be responsible for training new associates, completing daily production reports accurately and timely, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of manufacturing experience, proficiency with FIFO inventory methodology, and basic computer knowledge. Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds is necessary, along with willingness to become forklift and tote certified.
