The position in question is that of a Housekeeping Attendant responsible for cleaning, stocking, and providing turn-down service for guest rooms. This role ensures that all accommodations meet the company’s rigorous standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. A Housekeeping Attendant assists the Lobby Attendant by fulfilling guest requests, placing daily amenities, and picking up rooms when necessary. Responsibilities extend to cleaning bathroom fixtures such as bathtubs, toilets, sinks, and surfaces with appropriate supplies and equipment, as well as vacuuming rooms, stripping and remaking beds, dusting furniture and fixtures, and replenishing linens and amenities in guest rooms. This role requires the individual to operate heavy carts, sign for room keys, and actively inspect rooms for cleanliness and visual appeal, confirming completion of cleaning tasks.
Reporting relationships are clearly defined, with this position reporting to higher-level housekeeping management including the Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, Housekeeping Manager, and Housekeeping Supervisor. Regular interactions and communication occur with guests and other housekeeping associates to ensure service excellence. This role demands not only physical stamina due to the nature of the work—which includes lifting items up to 50 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods—but also an attentive and responsive attitude towards guest needs and teamwork.
The ideal candidate may have previous experience in a housekeeping or hospitality role, although it is not strictly required, making this position accessible to those who are eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. Educational requirements are flexible, with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
