The role of Baker and Prep Cook at Fresquez Companies is a critical position within their central kitchen located at Albuquerque International Sunport, New Mexico. This role involves the preparation and baking of breads, pastries, and other baked goods following precise recipes and standards to ensure consistency, quality, and safety. The position requires a blend of creativity, technical baking skills, and attention to detail to decorate and present bakery products that meet company and customer specifications.
Bakers and prep cooks work under general supervision and collaborate closely with restaurant operations teams and leadership to maintain smooth kitchen operations. The schedule for this position includes early mornings, mid-shifts, and overnight shifts, reflecting the dynamic and fast-paced nature of the food service industry. Employees in this role must be dependable, timely, and capable of handling multiple priorities efficiently. They must comply with New Mexico state regulations, including obtaining an Alcohol Server Permit, and maintain confidentiality on company information.
In addition to baking and prep duties, this position involves using large-volume cooking equipment such as ovens and deep-fat fryers, prepping ingredients, monitoring food safety standards, and helping keep kitchen workstations clean and organized.
