The Head Cashier position plays an integral role within our front-end operations, offering leadership and support to Cashiers while maintaining the smooth flow of checkout processes. A Head Cashier not only processes checkout and return transactions with accuracy and speed but also supervises the Self-Checkout area to ensure it operates effectively. This position requires proactive engagement in gaining product and project knowledge, enabling the ability to inform customers and identify opportunities to enhance sales. In addition to managing routine cashier duties, the Head Cashier is responsible for positioning and supporting Cashiers by facilitating price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various service points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This role serves as the first line of escalation for customer concerns, necessitating a calm and professional approach to resolving issues and enhancing customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the Head Cashier contributes to the development and training of other Front End Associates by actively participating in onboarding new Cashiers and utilizing all available coaching tools to foster growth and operational excellence within the team. This leadership component is crucial for maintaining a motivated and skilled front-end workforce. Typically, candidates suitable for this position have over one year of cashier experience, allowing them to bring practical knowledge and confidence to the role.
