The Materials Department at PHI Aviation plays a critical role in maintaining smooth and efficient operations by managing the Receiving and Expediting functions. Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Manager of General Procurement and the indirect oversight of the Stores and Transportation Supervisor, this role is essential in ensuring that all materials, parts, and supplies are properly received, documented, and expedited to support ongoing aviation services. This position not only requires meticulous attention to detail but also demands a strong adherence to safety and regulatory protocols to uphold the company's standards and compliance obligations.
The primary duties include maintaining inventory accuracy, compliance with safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal standard operating procedures such as the company’s Shelf-Life Management Program. The individual in this role is responsible for accurate recordkeeping relating to incoming and outgoing shipments, handling credits and issues related to non-aircraft parts, supplies, and hardware. Effective communication and coordination with coworkers, customers, vendors, and warehouse staff are critical to the success of the role. The individual is expected to demonstrate problem-solving skills and effective decision-making abilities to address any issues that may arise during receiving or expediting activities.
In addition, the role includes participating in on-the-job training to enhance understanding of job functions and ensure documentation accuracy. A clean, orderly, and safe working environment is paramount, and the candidate will share accountability for meeting regulatory requirements including SOX404 compliance. The physical demands of the job require the ability to lift and handle freight items and maintain an up-to-date vehicle driving record and license, as the role may involve driving responsibilities.
This is a full-time position with a regular 5-day workweek schedule, located in Lafayette, LA. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and preferably prior experience in a receiving or procurement-related role. Good communication and coordination skills, along with a valid driver’s license, are essential.
