This role is a specialized position within CAE’s Defense and Security unit, primarily focusing on the training and support of C-130/L-382 aircraft instructors. The role involves planning, organizing, and delivering both legacy and advanced avionics instruction related to the C-130/L-382 aircraft. This instruction is delivered across multiple environments, including simulators, classroom settings, and practical hands-on training. The position incorporates training in essential topics, such as Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS), ensuring that personnel are prepared to conduct complex flight operations safely and efficiently. The candidate will be responsible for developing lesson plans, syllabi, and comprehensive courseware, contributing to the curriculum for these critical training programs. The role requires an instructor to lead simulator sessions, operate simulator instructor operator stations, and evaluate trainee performance with detailed post-training reports. The employer emphasizes safety as the highest priority, requiring all training activities to adhere strictly to safety standards. In addition to delivering expert instruction, the candidate must maintain currency in knowledge through ongoing training and self-study. They are expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical procedures and flight concepts to a diverse customer base that may include domestic and international military personnel. Proficiency in mathematical skills is also essential for mission planning, such as flight plan calculations and fuel consumption management. This role may involve foreign travel and physical demands such as standing for extended periods, climbing stairs, and tolerating simulation vibrations and acoustic environments.
